Saving it for a rainy day?

Posted by Megan on October 24, 2011

Today’s blog is dedicated to “going out clothes” versus “work clothes” for those who have 2 distinct wardrobes and how you can get more out of your wardrobe.

I think as we reach our 30’s and 40′s and possibly start wearing a little more(!) when we go out, the distinction between a work and casual wardrobes is not always as obvious and there are certainly items that could cross over and work in both wardrobes.

I know the thinking behind “saving” clothes for going out is that they were expensive and might get ruined or overworn at work. The reality however is that we often save clothes for nights out or events that never materialise and the “saving” turns into a waste as we never end up wearing the clothes.

I am not suggesting that suits should suddenly be worn to a Saturday pub lunch, but I can guarantee that there would be a few lovely tops and shirts and shoes that are gathering dust in your wardrobe that could be worn with a suit / skirt / trousers to work. Even consider doing this on a day when you have evening plans … you are likely to feel fabulous that day and you will be amazed at how your mood lifts with compliments!

Happy wardrobe recycling!
